FIH Women's Pro League China Stop: Yunfu’s Big Hockey Kick-Off (Feb 5-10)
Yunfu, China is set to host the Women's FIH Pro League Season 7 (China) from February 5 to 10, marking the start of the February competition window for the international top-tier field hockey event. Authorized by the International Hockey Federation (FIH), the tournament will be held at Yunfu Education Park Hockey Field in Guangdong Province, with the Chinese Women's National Hockey Team taking on world-class sides England and the Netherlands in a series of high-intensity matches. Hosted by the Chinese Hockey Association (CHA) and organized by the Yunfu Municipal Government, this is Yunfu’s first major international sporting event, a pivotal milestone for the city’s hockey development and its drive to become an emerging "Hockey City".

The three teams head into the Yunfu stage with distinct form: the Netherlands, boasting customary depth and attacking flair, started the 2025-2026 season with a perfect 3 wins in 3 matches in Argentina last December;

England is seeking better results after securing 4 points from their opening 4 games in Ireland; China, meanwhile, will leverage home advantage to measure its progress against the two strong opponents, aiming to continue the outstanding home performance of the previous season and delight local supporters as it kicks off its new campaign.
Preparations for the six day tournament are proceeding smoothly, with event operations, logistics, and volunteer services all largely in place. Elite international teams will gather in Yunfu to deliver a spectacular showcase of world-class field hockey, and local residents and visitors are warmly invited to watch the matches and experience the thrill of top-tier sport firsthand.
